Cute & Simple Halloween Decor
A quick and easy way to spice up any area of your home with festive but simple Halloween decor.
Confession: I have not always been the biggest Halloween fan, although every year I am learning to embrace it more in my own way! I think it is the scary aspect that I don't appreciate... but I do love the candy;) this year I wanted to try out some easy DIY decor; not too scary but very simple and chic. These homemade, paper bats did the trick. You can put them sporadically around your home or all together for a statement wall.
To make the bats, simply use whatever black paper/cardstock/foam paper you have on hand. I found the sparkly foam paper in my craft drawer that I used for the larger bats as well as pieces of shiny, black paper that I used for the smaller bats. If you don't have any on hand you can pick some up from your local craft store! You can also pick up a stencil for a bat shape or print one off online. I free hand drew mine, which you can do as well! Don't worry, once on the wall the bat shapes are very forgiving so don't be too particular. Once you have the bats drawn out, cut them out and use double stick tape to stick them where you choose.
One of my favorite ways to decorate is to use this homemade chalkboard and just change the writing and style for the different holidays and seasons. I usually browse Pinterest for ideas and inspiration on what to write. Floral arrangements that match the season are perfect for decorating as well. Just add a few pumpkins and a fall/Halloween candle and your simple Halloween decor will be complete! Hope ya'll enjoy, and Happy Halloween!
