DIY Citrus Infused All-Purpose Cleaner
Are you looking for an all-natural cleaning recipe? Try this DIY citrus infused cleaner.
DIY cleaners that are all-natural and better for you are all the rage the last few years, and for good reason. Most all of us are aware of the dangerous chemicals that are in the usual household cleaners from the store. Did you read our post on 3 Natural Bleach Alternatives? I shared a story about how I burnt a hole in my shirt by leaking a few drops of bleach on it. Eeek! And bleach seems to be one of the most common, household cleaners we all use.
The solution? A DIY citrus and herb infused cleaner that you can use all around your house, that doesn't have any of the strange chemicals in your usual cleaners.
This citrus infused vinegar cleaner is also VERY cheap. Especially compared to the chemical-laden cleaning products from the store. You can purchase a gallon of vinegar from the store for just a few dollars and it will go a long way and can be used for a wide variety of things around your home.
One of the things that I love the most about having an all-purpose cleaner in an easy-to-use spray bottle, is that its so convenient that I am much more likely to use it and clean. Its FUN! I find myself a little overly eager to spray everything in our house. I love using it on our counter tops (be sure not to use it on marble or granite because the acids from the citrus can be damaging to them). I also spray it on our high chair right after our little guy eats so that it can start to soften all of the junk before it hardens. Then, I just use a soapy rag to wipe it off when I have a moment.
You can use it on most anything, just as you would with any other all-purpose cleaner: in your bathrooms, on the counter tops (not marble or granite), on the high chair (just make sure your babes don't have any kind of reactions to it), etc. Be warned, whenever you are cleaning with vinegar, it will have a strong vinegar smell. Hence, the lemon and herbs. The citrus, cinnamon, and herbs helps to combat the vinegar smell and give you a fresher and more appealing smell. You will most likely still have some vinegar smell, but don't worry it will go away after a short while.
I hope you enjoy and are able to get all your spaces clean and green!
